Leahy still awaits release of interrogation tapes
Senator Patrick Leahy says he’s very disappointed that the Defense Department hasn’t turned over video tapes of alleged prisoner abuse at the Detention Center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Leahy, who requested these tapes last week, says he’s concerned that the Bush administration may be trying to cover up this issue. (VPR)

Bank robber sentenced
A former resident of South Londonderry has been sentenced to over 15 years in prison for robbing a bank. Fifty-seven-year-old Donald Smith had pleaded guilty to robbing the Charter One Bank in the town of Jamaica in December 2002. (AP)
