McMullen criticizes use of ‘Champ’ in Leahy ad

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jack McMullen wants to make it clear he does not believe in “Champ,” the legendary creature said to live in Lake Champlain. And McMullen is taking incumbent Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy to task for airing a lighthearted campaign commercial in which children confuse Vermont’s senior senator with Champ. McMullen says Leahy should be focusing on job creation and the war on terrorism.
