It’s going to cost the town of Shaftsbury more than officials thought to end a potentially dangerous build up of the gas methane at the town’s capped landfill; Vermont’s second largest utility says it has eliminated its so-called “carbon footprint”, now the company says it wants to give its customers the same opportunity; Senate President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin says the way to finance global warming legislation in Vermont is to place a windfall profits tax on the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant.
