The Vermont Legislature met for less than a minute this morning, and then adjourned; humane societies are trying to find foster homes for an annual surge in stray kittens; In about an hour, Republican Senatorial candidate Rich Tarrant will appear at the Statehouse to have his picture taken with Lola Aiken, the widow of Vermont political icon George Aiken; Vermont State Police are investigating a holiday weekend drowning of a New Hampshire man respected for his career helping the homeless; New Hampshire and Vermont are near the top of a new ranking by three liberal advocacy groups analyzing laws on gay rights and abortion rights.
