Central Vermont Public Service unveiled what it says is a cutting edge effort to move hybrid vehicles to another level of efficiency; under a bill newly signed into law by Governor Jim Douglas, pharmaceutical companies will no longer have automatic access to the prescribing patterns of the state’s physicians; a year ago, heavy spring rains made Vermont fields unworkable, and farmers lost field time they could never make up, but this year it’s different; Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean says New Hampshire still is important, but Secretary of State William Gardner says changes in the presidential election calendar made under Dean’s leadership have dishonored New Hampshire’s primary tradition.
