At mid-morning the Biomass energy Resource Center released a report showing that Vermont has plenty of forested land that can be harvested for clean-burning wood fuel; a new national study says that with just a two-year term and no line-item veto, Vermont’s governors are among the weakest in the nation, but office’s current occupant makes up for that with political strength; next week, at the end of the fiscal year, the state of Vermont will get about ten million dollars in funds from banks and other institutions that can’t find the rightful owners of those financial assets; elsewhere, fifty New Hampshire National Guard members, some with ties to the Upper Valley, are leaving today for duty in Iraq.
