Two central Vermont children are being treated for what are believed to be unrelated cases of E-coli infections; legislators plan to meet with Governor Jim Douglas this week to talk about an energy bill that Douglas has vetoed; this month the Vermont Land Trust and allied organizations have been especially visible in the preservation of significant land parcels, including a wetland in Morrisville and a stretch of riverbank on the Battenkill in Arlington; Vermont’s Agency of Natural Resources issued an air advisory this morning, saying that the hot, humid weather is bringing elevated levels of fine particles into the atmosphere around Vermont’s southern region; New Hampshire’s convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown have gained a new supporter in Republican Presidential hopeful Ron Paul.
