Governor Jim Douglas visits Vermont troops in one of the most dangerous places in Iraq; the state police say the ice on Vermont’s lakes and ponds is unstable, and the ice fishing season should end; officials in Westminster say they need more information before they make a decision about a proposed crematorium in town; the New Hampshire Lottery Commission tried a couple of weeks ago to get the Legislature to permit the sale of thirty-dollar scratch tickets and that now looks unlikely because a key Senator on the Finance committee says the proposal is “too radical”.
