A lawsuit filed by survivors of a 2006 bus crash on the Adirondack Northway has grown.

That’s according to a Connecticut-based lawyer who represents most of the plaintiffs involved.

He says Greyhound is trying to move the case from Dallas County, Texas, where the bus company has its headquarters, to New York state courts. A decision on that motion is expected in the next two weeks.

27 plaintiffs are suing Greyhound for more than $50 million. When the original suit was filed last September, there were only six plaintiffs.

The crash in Elizabethtown, New York, on August 28th, 2006 killed five people, including the driver. Forty-eight people were injured, and victims were rushed to emergency rooms around the North Country.

Investigators say a tire blowout caused the bus to roll down an inclined highway median near Westport.

The bus was en route from New York City to Montreal.

Greyhound did not return calls for comment.
