The Internal Revenue Service says more Vermonters have filed their tax forms electronically this year than ever before.

As of early March, the IRS says more than one-hundred thousand tax returns have been filed in Vermont. Of those, about 68,000 were filed electronically, some through tax preparers and others by home computer.

The IRS says it has seen a big increase in the use of home computer filing. About 26,000 returns have been filed electronically from home so far.
