The Vermont Senate has voted to override Governor Douglas’s veto of campaign finance reform legislation. Backers of the legislation say it will reduce the influence of money on the state’s political system. But opponents argue it’s nothing more than an incumbent protection bill. Central Vermont Public Service and Green Mountain College want to get kids more interested in science and conservation. The college and utility have joined forces on a unique project that uses hybrid cars and trucks to teach kids about energy consumption and its impact on the planet.
