Here are the top stories at 7:30 a.m.:

The Wall Street bailout package that passed the Senate last night got a split vote from Vermont’s delegation. Senator Patrick Leahy voted in favor of the $700 billion financial rescue plan. Senator Bernie Sanders voted against the bill.  Many members of the Vermont National Guard will be learning in coming weeks if they’ll be deployed to Afghanistan. The U.S. Supreme Court says it will hear a Vermont prosecutor’s appeal in the case of a domestic assault suspect whose conviction was thrown out because it took a court three years to hear his case.
