State Representative Mary Morrissey says she’ll wait until the Republican primary before endorsing anyone in the race for the U.S. House.
Morrissey is the only Republican currently serving in the Vermont House not to sign a petition supporting Martha Rainville in that campaign.
State Senator Mark Shepard of Bennington County also is seeking the Republican nomination for the U.S. House. Morrissey is from Bennington.
Shepard says he’s not concerned that more than 100 Republicans who are currently or formerly members of the state House have lined up behind Rainville.
He says he’s looking for support among grass-roots Republicans and is not seeking endorsements.
