Natalie Garza hasn’t given up hope for her son, or for the authorities who have searched for him.

But frustration with the pace of searching and the continued mystery of what happened to 19-year-old Nicholas have caused her to take matters into her own hands.

Garza, who has been living at Middlebury College since Feb. 10, went door-to-door at Middlebury storefronts yesterday along with her sister handing out flyers with pictures of her son and appeals for volunteers to help with Saturday’s search.

She has enlisted the services of a missing persons consultant from Minnesota to oversee the effort.
