Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says several states, including New Hampshire, are suing to overturn federal ozone standards, which they deem too weak.

Blumenthal announced the federal lawsuit yesterday against the Environmental Protection Agency.

It says the EPA’s new smog-control standards are not stringent enough to protect the elderly, children and people with respiratory problems.

Other states in the suit are Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, the District of Columbia, the city of New York and Pennsylvania’s department of environmental protection.
