New Hampshire’s largest teacher’s union is holding a news conference this morning to discuss its opposition to a proposed constitutional amendment on school funding.
The House is scheduled to vote on the amendment tomorrow.
The president of NEA-New Hampshire, will speak. Joining her will be other representatives of the New Hampshire school community including the executive director of the New Hampshire School Administrators Association.
A bipartisan agreement was reached among legislators recently on an amendment that would let them target money to needier towns as long as all shared in a “meaningful” amount of state aid.
Last year, the union opposed an amendment proposed by Governor John Lynch, saying that providing only targeted aid would pit schools against one another.
