Twenty-five people are now U.S. citizens, after a ceremony on the steamship Ticonderoga at Shelburne Museum.

U.S. District Court Judge William Sessions presided over the ceremony yesterday afternoon.

The Vermont ceremony is one of over 150 events across the country this week that will welcome more than 32,000 new U.S. citizens in recognition of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day are celebrated on September 17, in remembrance of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
