New Yorkers fuel up in Vermont

With gas prices 20 to 30 cents higher per gallon in New York, drivers are crossing the border into Vermont to fuel up.

One afternoon this week the gas pumps at Sultan Sunoco in Rouses Point, N.Y., where unleaded gas sold for $4.29 a gallon, were nearly empty while four miles away in Vermont, the Alburgh Go-Go Mart, which charged $4.08 a gallon, was busy.

Higher gas taxes in the Empire State are to blame.

Station owners and drivers say the difference is pushing business over the border.
