The town of Newfane is calling for the impeachment of President Bush.
The town voted 121 to 29 today in favor of a resolution requesting Bush to be impeached.
Selectman Dan DeWalt drafted the impeachment article. He says it gives individuals a chance to have voice in the country.
DeWalt says – quote – “It absolutely affects us locally. It’s our sons and daughters, our mothers and fathers, who are dying” in the war in Iraq.
The article calls on Vermont Representative Bernie Sanders to file articles of impeachment against the president.
The article alleges that Bush misled the nation into the Iraq war and engaged in illegal domestic spying.
