Legislative leaders say Vermont lawmakers won’t be going home for the year this coming Friday, as they originally had hoped. This could be the climactic week in an effort by some Vermont lawmakers to get the Legislature to intervene in the proposed merger of Vermont’s two largest electric utilities. Dozens of town energy committees are working with state agencies and non-profits to improve their town’s energy efficiency. A Vermont environmental commission has approved a land-use permit for the Burke Mountain ski resort, which wants to add 32 housing units and other amenities.
