The state of Vermont has appealed the federal court ruling that rejected two state laws designed to force Vermont Yankee to close next month, when its original operating license expires. When fire destroyed an historic farmhouse in Woodstock earlier this month, some people wondered if the devastate owners would call it quits. Vermont’s congressional delegation wants to extend the program that helps farmers weather the ups-and-downs in dairy prices.
