Legislation that would eliminate the “philosophical” exemption to VT’s immunization law is controversial. A group of advocates for the health of the Connecticut River says Entergy Vermont Yankee is using flawed scientific studies to justify the continued use of river water to cool the reactor. A committee of the Vermont Senate has voted to advance legislation calling for an overhaul of Vermont’s mental health system. A Vermont Senate committee is considering setting up a new unit within the Vermont State Police drug task force to fighting gang-related activity. Vermont State Police say the death of an instructor found stuck in a window at the Mad River Glen Ski area in Fayston was accidental.
