A state owned office building in Waterbury will be converted to affordable housing units under a federal disaster aid grant. Green Mountain Power wants permission to install equipment that will boost the amount of electricity that its turbines in the Lowell Mountain wind project can put out in the New England grid. A planning commission has secured a $3600 state grant to help restore a polluted brook between Burlington and South Burlington. The U.S. Marshals Service says a man wanted on a sexual assault charge in Vermont since October 2010 has been arrested in Kansas. Officials at the University New Hampshire say the debate over state support for higher education has affected enrollment, but they hope Governor Maggie Hassan’s budget proposal will help turn things around.
