A traveling Smithsonian exhibit highlights one of the upper Valley’s historical icons, the mill. Vermont’s apple orchards are busy preparing for the spring. While some Vermonters spend this Christmas day opening presents, eating a big meal or going to church, others take to the woods for a tradition that started back in 1900. It’s the annual Christmas Bird Count.
