The Vermont Public Service Board will start hearings next week on whether or not the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant should get a new 20-year operating license. The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it has now given the green light for towns to buy out 96 of the 118 homes damaged by Tropical Storm Irene under FEMA’s hazard mitigation grant program. The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is joining 38 other states in sharing information about when hunting and fishing licenses are suspended. Vermont State Police are warning people about unsafe ice after a truck went through frozen Lake Seymour in Morgan.
