New Hampshire’s Executive Council holds a hearing today on Michael Delaney’s nomination to replace Kelly Ayotte as attorney general.

The 40-year-old Delaney is a former deputy attorney general who also headed the agency’s homicide unit. Most recently, Delaney has worked as Governor John Lynch’s legal counsel.

Ayotte left to join a growing field of potential candidates in next year’s G-O-P primary to replace Republican Senator Judd Gregg, who is not seeking re-election.
