New Hampshire’s congressional delegation has split on the $14 billion auto industry rescue bill.

Representatives Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes voted for the bill, saying it is needed to protect 12,000 jobs in New Hampshire.

In the Senate, Judd Gregg voted against the plan, and fellow Republican John Sununu did not vote.

Gregg said it was unfortunate they could not reach a bipartisan deal to provide loans to the automakers, while protecting taxpayers, and helping ensure that the companies take steps to ensure long-term viability.
