New Hampshire’s two members of the U.S. House of Representatives are on opposite sides of legislation steering unused Wall Street bailout money to job creation programs.

Democrat Carol Shea-Porter voted yes on Wednesday, while fellow Democrat Paul Hodes voted no.

The bill uses $75 billion from the Wall St. bailout fund for public works projects and aid to state and local governments. It narrowly passed the House 217-212. Hodes was one of 38 Democrats siding with 174 Republicans who voted no.

Hodes said in a statement that he firmly believes the money should be used to reduce the national debt. Shea-Porter, meanwhile, said in a statement that she voted "to east the pain on Main Street by creating jobs."

The bill now goes to the Senate.
