New Hampshire could be changing the look of its primary ballots

A bill pending in the Legislature would remove the vice presidential office from the ballots.

New Hampshire is the only state that has vice presidential candidates in the primaries, according to Richard Winger, editor of the newsletter Ballot Access News based in San Francisco.

David Scanlan, deputy secretary of state, said counting vice presidential votes is costly and time-consuming for city clerks. Kathy Seaver, president of the New Hampshire City and Town Clerks’ Association, echoed those sentiments in a letter to lawmakers.
