Power has been restored to nearly three-quarters of the New Hampshire homes and businesses left in the dark by last week’s ice storm.

Utilities report roughly 117,000 customers still without power Tuesday morning, down from 430,000 at the peak of the storm.

The state’s largest utility, Public Service Company of New Hampshire, says crews pushed hard Monday to restore power to as many customers as possible before a mix of rain and snow forecast for Tuesday made efforts more challenging.
