New Hampshire Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter says she will not run for U.S. Senate next year.

Shea-Porter, a Democrat in her second term, had considered running for the seat now held by Republican Sen. Judd Gregg, who isn’t seeking re-election. But she said Monday she has decided against it and that she loves her work in the House.

Fellow Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes, also in his second term, already has announced his campaign for Gregg’s seat. Republicans are said to be waiting for a decision from John E. Sununu, who lost his Senate seat in November and hasn’t said yet whether he will run again.
