New Hampshire Democratic Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter says she’s not ruling out a bid for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Republican Judd Gregg in 2010.

She made the comment Friday during a conference call with reporters on the House passage of the economic stimulus package.

The 1st District representative said her cell phone "has been ringing off the hook." But she said she is focused on the stimulus package, the economy in general and two wars.

Fellow Democrat Paul Hodes of the 2nd District was quick to announce his candidacy after Gregg was nominated for Commerce Secretary and said Thursday he intends to remain a candidate. Gregg withdrew his name from consideration and said he was not planning to run again for the Senate.
