New Hampshire’s Fish and Game Department says there’s no sign of chronic wasting disease in the state’s white-tailed deer population.

The study was based on more than 405 deer tissue samples provided by the Fish and Game Department. The samples were collected during hunting season.

The disease is fatal for white-tailed deer, mule deer, elk and moose.

Since 2002, almost 2,300 deer have been tested for the disease in the state.

There is no evidence that humans can catch the disease.
