Last summer state regulators gave the Professional Nurses Services of Winooski permission to serve patients in Vermont who get Medicaid and Medicare coverage.
But the six homecare agencies that are members of the non profit say that could make it harder for them to provide services.
And they want the Vermont Supreme Court to overrule a decision
Their attorney, Phil White, says the noncompetitive system has worked well for 25 years and there is no reason to disturb it.
But the private nurses group says they provide services that can’t be met by the home health agency nurses.
