(Host) Congressman Bernie Sanders’ office wasn’t disrupted much by today’s events at the Rayburn building on Capitol Hill. Sanders’ office is on the second floor of the Rayburn building. He was traveling back to Vermont when police locked down the building after reports of gunfire.

Speaking by cell phone a few minutes after the building re-opened, Sanders’ press secretary Erin Campbell said the staff wasn’t really affected:

(Campbell) “We were able to continue our routines as normal. The Capitol Police requested that we stay inside our office as they conducted the search and that’s what we did.”

(Host) Campbell praised the Capitol Police for keeping everyone in the building informed throughout the day.
