The Norwich University Drill Team is known for its excellence in national competition. And this year’s squad is upholding that tradition. In February, the Norwich “Shock Platoon” is heading to the National Championships at Tulane University.
Drill teams display precision handling of their, rifles, impeccable dress and appearance and above all else, unity of movement. “Shock Platoon” had these qualities on display last weekend at an invitational at Cornell University. They took first place in all of the eight events, out-performing teams like West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy.
Last year at nationals, “Shock Platoon” finished in second place. This will be their third straight appearance in the national championships.
