Officials look to relocate Burlington building employees due to sickness

State officials are looking for temporary office space to replace a Burlington building where a number of workers have become sick.

They’ve found three options but there are shortcomings to all of them.

One in downtown Burlington is more expensive and doesn’t have enough parking.

One in Williston requires several bus transfers for low-income clients and one in Essex isn’t near a bus line.

But state officials say they’re committed to moving state workers from the building after having problems with a different building in Bennington.

Workers there reported illnesses that they associated with their work place, too, and the state has found them new offices.
