Vermont fire officials say one person is dead and another injured after a fire that displaced 30 people from a Morrisville apartment building.

The Morrisville Fire Department says the fire at the Brooklyn Street building was reported at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Police identified the victim as 48-year-old Heather Manley.

Neighbor Jonathan Nielsen was injured while attempting to rescue Manley.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
