Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, local dairy cooperatives and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture are meeting to discuss the current plight facing dairy farmers.

The Vermont Farmers’ Forum for Dairy Farm Survival is being organized by a Vernon man who thinks a solution can be found to the low prices that dairy farmers are getting for their milk and other challenges.

The panel will be asked a series of questions including who is currently making money from dairying and how are they doing it to what are possible alternatives to the current federal pricing of raw milk.

The forum will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the campus center at Vermont Technical College.
