Route 9 in the southern Vermont town of Marlboro will be closed for at least an hour while a tractor trailer that crashed in the snow storm is removed from a ditch.

The Vermont State Police say the truck went off the road in snowy conditions on Tuesday. But police decided to wait until Wednesday to have the truck removed safely in better weather.

The driver told police he swerved off the road to avoid an out-of-control vehicle traveling the other way. Police say the roads were covered with wet, slushy snow.

The driver was not injured.

Police say Route 9 will be closed just west of Adams Cross Road in Marlboro starting around 9 a.m. on Wednesday so the tractor trailer can be removed.
