Vermont songwriter Pete Sutherland spent his spring working with students at the Benson Village School and the Swanton Elementary School writing ballads to mark the Champlain Quadricentennial.
The workshops were part of the Young Writers Project. Earlier we reported on the workshops as they were underway. And the two songs the students helped write were performed for the first time in public this month.
As part of VPR’s Champlain 400 coverage Sutherland dropped by to perform them on Vermont Edition.
