Peter Mallary named head of state Democratic Party

Vermont’s state Democratic Party has a new chairman: former Newbury legislator Peter Mallary will replace Scudder Parker, who resigned. Mallary served in the Legislature for three terms in the early and mid-1990s. For one of those terms he was the assistant majority leader. He is the publisher of a monthly newsmagazine in Orange County and a weekly advertising newspaper. Mallary previously has served the Democratic Party on its state committee and its executive committee.
