If you’re into board games, you might spend your weekends playing Monopoly or even Words With Friends. But have you ever heard of Pitchnut? How about Crokinole?

They’re both old Canadian games, played on wooden boards with flat disks as playing pieces. Four players use strategy and technique to flick the disks across the boards.

A Pitchnut and Crokinole tournament was organized last weekend by former Middlebury College student Ben Meader and forty-odd people gathered at the Lincoln Peak Winery to learn how to play.
