Plan to consolidate technology coordination

Administration Secretary Michael Smith says the governor is encouraged by lawmakers’ response to a proposed state technology department. The state spends an estimated $50-70 million on information technology each year. Smith says Governor Jim Douglas wants to see greater coordination and efficiencies in that area.
