An economist has been chosen to head the Department of Public Service’s planning division. J. Riley Allen has worked both for the Department of Public Service and the Public Service Board.
Allen returned to the DPS staff earlier this year after working for years as a consultant on utility regulation in southern Africa. DPS Commissioner David O’Brien appointed Allen to replace Jonathan Lesser, who left the post earlier this year.
His first priority will be finalizing the draft 20-year electric plan, for which public hearings are expected to be scheduled soon.
