Vermont State Police say a wheelchair-bound woman who was reported missing after she was last seen at the Diamond Run Mall in Rutland has been found safe in Missouri.

Police said late Tuesday that 31-year-old Jessica Flanders, of Fair Haven, was found safe and she was taken into protective custody in Dixon, Missouri.

Police believe Flanders traveled to Missouri with 35-year-old Benjamin Davis of Dixon, Mo.

But detectives say they have gotten mixed information about whether Flanders intended to go to Missouri with Davis.

Police had said that due to Flanders’ limited mobility, medical needs, and mental status, there was concern for her welfare.

Arrangements are being made to return Flanders to Vermont.

Police say no charges have been filed, but the case is considered open and under investigation.
