Police search for suspect in Rutland home invasion

The Vermont State Police are searching for a man suspected of invading the home of an elderly Rutland woman this morning.

Police say the woman reported that her phone line was cut and the suspect then asked for her purse. Police were called at about 3:30 this morning.

The suspect took several items from the purse and then fled.

The woman was not injured.

The suspect is described as male between five feet eight inches and six feet tall, thin and in his 20’s. He was wearing a plaid jacket and a navy watch cap.

Anyone with any information on the case is asked to call the Vermont State Police in Rutland.
