Vermonters can expect to see five Democrats and one Republican on the state’s primary ballot. The deadline for the March 2 presidential primary was Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.

Only three of the remaining seven major Democratic candidates did not file in Vermont: John Edwards, Al Sharpton and Joe Lieberman. Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich have all filed for the primary. Perennial Democratic candidate Lyndon LaRouche filed late last year. President George Bush is the only Republican to file with the secretary of state’s office.

Vermont is one of eleven states with a March 2 primary.
