A prisoner at the Newport jail has admitted responsibility for a bomb threat that prompted officials to evacuate the St. Johnsbury federal building on Tuesday. Police say 25-year-old William Erno sent a written bomb threat and anthrax threats to government offices in the building. Erno later admitted the threats were a hoax. He’s serving four to eight years in jail on arson and fraud charges.
