Chittenden County prosecutors are deciding whether to file charges against a hunter who shot and killed another hunter in Milton last month.
Chittenden County State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan says his office will likely have a decision by Thursday.
Police say 43-year-old David Jenkins of Milton died November 23 after being shot while hunting with two friends in woods about four miles north of the town center.
Police have said little about the case but say it appears another hunter in Jenkin’s party appeared to have fired the shot.
